Over two hundred years ago, William Carey, a missionary from England, reached India and was shocked to witness killings of baby girls in India, burying lepers while they were still alive, widow burning (sati) and other evil practices in the name of religion all with the approval of the religious leaders.

Today, with the onset of globalization and the economic boom in India, little has changed for the 600 million people living under poverty in the villages of India. Their lives continue to be oppressed by socio-economic and religious bondage (click and read the article below by BBC.) Please note that it is a very disturbing article.

As believers living and ministering in India, we are continually horrified at the prevalent evil practices of religious beliefs that are still followed by some sections of Hindus. We, at North India Evangelistic Association, continue to believe in the power of the gospel and education to bring people out of darkness and superstitious beliefs. With the help of your support and gifts, we have made a difference for more than 300 children whose lives are being empowered everyday. We are excited to bring 50 more children from the untouchable caste (outcastes in India) to Faith Home on Oct. 15, 2006.

We are asking you to share this story with your friends, families and church. Make a difference by supporting North India Evangelistic Association. We are committed to evangelize, educate, train, and empower the people of India.

Blessings,

Ashish Massey
